Current Graduate Students

Johnny Winston (SoLS)

Johnny works on the history and philosophy of systematics, particularly on the role systematists and taxonomists played in the discussions that led to the passing of the Endangered Species Act.

Zach Pirtle (Mechanical Engineering)

Zach holds a certificate in History and Philosophy of Science from his undergrad days here at ASU, and is now working on several projects around engineering and climate change models and what they mean.  He would be nearing completion of the coursework for a Master's degree in mechanical engineering if he hadn't been awarded a Fulbright that will allow him to spend a year in Mexico learning about nanotechnology and what it means.

Melissa Baker (SoLS)

Melissa is the newest addition to the lab.  She is just starting her Ph.D, and is hard at work to become a philosopher of psychology.

Katherine Liu (SoLS)

Katherine will soon be joining us from UC Davis, where she has recently finished her BS in Biochemistry.
